INSTALLATION SOLUTION
for feature wall
Installing a feature wall, especially one with running water, carries a higher risk of efflorescence. Therefore, extra care should be taken in selecting the installation materials to minimize the chance of efflorescence as much as possible.
White stain problems which are common in natural stone installations.
"Efflorescence" is often referred to as white stains or salt stains. These stains are commonly found on concrete surfaces, washed sand, and natural stones such as granite, which make the surface look dirty and untidy. White stains are caused by naturally occurring salts in the stone or concrete, which are pushed by moisture through the gaps in the cement or gaps in the stone to the surface. When the moisture is exposed to sunlight and heat, it evaporates, leaving only salt stains on the surface. For the above reasons, we can understand that salt stains are often more visible in the grout lines, which are the channels where moisture can evaporate easily, and may occur quickly after stone installation due to the high salt content in the cement. Also, during the rainy season will be more chance than during the hot season due to the higher humidity content.
