Green Sukabumi is a distinctive natural stone originating from the Sukabumi region of West Java, Indonesia. The stone is closely associated with Indonesia's volcanic landscape, where geological processes over long periods created the mineral-rich stone known for its characteristic green appearance.
Characteristics and Appearance of Green Sukabumi
Natural green color with variations in tone and mineral pattern
A distinctive appearance when wet and Anti-slip
Very durable with more than 10 years with proper ways of installation and maintenance
Low absorption rate (approximately 4%)
Suitable for creating a tropical and resort-style atmosphere
Mineral characteristics that contribute to its unique appearance
Since the stone is a genuine natural material, installers should not expect every piece to have exactly the same color or pattern. Instead, the stones should be mixed during installation to create a balanced and harmonious appearance.

Installation Materials and Equipment
Recommended installation materials may include:
Green Sukabumi natural stone
Natural-stone tile adhesive
Flexible cement-based waterproofing
Grout
Leveling tools and string lines
Notched or straight trowel
Mechanical mixer
Cleaning brush and water
Appropriate cutting equipment
Installation Procedure
Step 1: Check the level of Pool area and dimensions
Floor level
Wall alignment
Wall dimensions
Pool corners
Drain locations
Pipe penetrations
Areas around steps and fittings
Any necessary corrections should be completed before stone installation using appropriate tile adhesive and ready-mixed plaster.
Step 2: Apply waterproof cement around the pool
Apply a waterproofing sealant to the wall properly. Our recommended material is Crocodile Flex Shield, a flexible cement-based waterproofing sealant. The approximate coverage rate is 1.25 - 1.50 sq/m per 1 kg bag, depending on the job site.
Step 3: Level the area and draw lines for paving the stones
Establish leveling markers, preferably using adhesive cement every 2 meters, no higher than the thickness of the stones, to maintain level. Then, draw lines or stretch a guideline for laying the stones, starting from the walls before the pool floor.
Step 4: Lay natural stone on Wall
Start with full stones at the upper section and work downward. This allows any necessary cutting pieces to be positioned toward the bottom of the pool where they are less visually noticeable. Installers must ensure that the front and back sides of each stone are correctly oriented and properly positioned before installation.
For Green Sukabumi, a compatible cream or light-colored adhesive can help reduce the possibility of unwanted color showing through the stone.
Step 5: Maintain the Correct Joint and Apply Grout
Generally, when paving a swimming pool with stone, a gap of about 3-4 mm is left, and then grout is applied. The material we recommend is Crocodile Brand Platinum Tile Grout.
Step 6: Lay natural stone on the Pool Floor and Other Areas
After completing the walls, install the Green Sukabumi on the pool floor and other remaining areas. The floor should be installed with the correct slope toward the drainage system so that water can flow efficiently toward the pool drain.
Pay particular attention around:
Pool drains
Steps
Fire pits
Plumbing outlets
Water inlets
Corners
Pool fittings
Other penetrations
These areas require accurate cutting and careful detailing to achieve a clean and watertight installation.
Step 7: Refine the details and apply water
Once the installation and grouting are complete, allow the mortar and grout to dry completely for approximately two weeks. Then, fill the pool with water until it's completely full and the water treatment system is activated.
If your location is very strong sunlight, installer should cover the area installation with a big tent. After finished the installation, you need to keep away the location from sunlight for at least 12 hours and must not watch or expose to rain for 3-4 hour.

Maintenance of Green Sukabumi Stone
Regular Cleaning
Regularly clean the pool surface and remove accumulated dirt and deposits. The supplied maintenance guide recommends cleaning or washing the swimming pool approximately every 3–4 days and vacuuming the pool regularly.
Recommended swimming-pool pH
Keeping the pH in the 7.0–7.8 range best balances killing germs to prevent swimming-related illness, the lifespan of the pipes, and swimmers' comfort.
As pH goes up, the ability of chlorine to kill germs decreases, especially if pH is >8.0.
As pH goes down, especially if pH is <7.0, the ability of chlorine to kill germs increases but pool stone and hot tub pipes are more likely to corrode or break down.
Yellow or Rust-Colored Spots
After years of exposure, Green Sukabumi may develop yellowish or rust-colored areas. This can be associated with its natural iron-bearing mineral content and exposure to air and sunlight. To solve this, Citric acid cleaning may be used as a maintenance method where appropriate.
(Note: Always perform a test area first and confirm compatibility before treating the entire pool.)
Recommendation of sealing Green Sukabumi Stone
The stone installed around Pool deck (outside of the pool area) should be sealed with a suitable penetrating natural-stone sealer. This area experiences repeated wetting and drying, splashing, pool chemicals, salts, dirt and organic contaminants, so sealing can help reduce staining and water/mineral penetration. The stone installed underwater (inside of the pool) generally does not require sealing.
